Nike SB x Violent Femmes Janoski Remastered Shoes

Built with a focus on boardfeel and performance whilst celebrating the latest studio album ‘Hotel Last Resort’ from American folk punk band Violent Femmes, these white Nike SB x Violent Femmes Janoski Remastered Shoes elevate the classic pro model with modern details and a super clean aesthetic. A split design shows statement ‘Violent’ and ‘Femmes’ text outlined using a chain-stitched technique in tour yellow coloured thread above the top edge of the midsole which has been mirrored below in rubber with a solid fill. For a premium finish leather laces secure the tongue which bears handwritten ‘I’m Nothing’ text in black in reference to the re-recorded track of the same name. This design continues across the sockliner which has been built with new foam construction as well as a Zoom Air unit, with a printed illustration of ‘I’m Nothing’ protestors above collaborative ‘Stefan x Violent Femmes’ text. For better boardfeel and flexibility, auxetic shapes have been inserted between the midsole and outsole designed to expand and contract in all directions, and the rubber outsole has been thinned in key areas for a lightweight, broken-in feel from first wear. The herringbone tread pattern has a speckled effect which highlights the use of recycled materials.

Following the release of the Violent Femmes’ tenth studio album, artist and pro skateboarder Stefan Janoski has designed this impactful footwear style to highlight the ‘I’m Nothing’ track which was first released in the 1994 album ‘New Times’. Re-recorded with more vigor than the original accompanied by vocals from Janoski, the lyrics demonstrate an exploration of ‘the modern conundrum of people needing to attach labels to other human beings’. Opting for a super crisp aesthetic and premium materials, a combination of skate driven performance and musical inspiration runs through this collaborative release, which includes subtle improvements across a signature pro Janoski silhouette.
